Calming scent tested for surgery jitters
NCT ID NCT07434323
Summary
This study tested whether a 15-minute session of smelling lavender oil could reduce anxiety in adults about to have minor skin cancer surgery. 66 patients were randomly assigned to smell either lavender oil or a placebo scent before their procedure. Researchers measured anxiety levels and vital signs to see if the lavender made a difference.
