Laughing gas tested to ease discomfort of awkward bladder exams
NCT ID NCT05883332
Summary
This study tested whether self-administered nitrous oxide (laughing gas) could reduce pain and anxiety during urodynamic studies—uncomfortable bladder function tests—without changing the test results. Nineteen adults undergoing the test used low-dose laughing gas during part of their procedure. Researchers compared bladder measurements and patient comfort with and without the gas to see if it's a safe way to make these tests easier.
