Race against time: new hope for stroke patients who miss the usual treatment window
NCT ID NCT07115940
Summary
This trial is for people who have a severe stroke caused by a large blood clot in the brain but arrive at the hospital 24 to 72 hours after symptoms begin. It will test if performing a minimally invasive procedure to remove the clot, on top of standard medical care, leads to better recovery and more independence 90 days later compared to medical care alone. The goal is to see if this treatment can help people who currently have very few options because they are outside the typical treatment window.
