NCT ID NCT07557875
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a diode laser helps children aged 3 to 6 heal better after tongue-tie surgery compared to standard electrosurgery. Fifty-three kids will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. Researchers will check wound healing, pain, bleeding, and tongue movement at several points over a month.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- 940nm Diode Laser
- What this could lead to
- If the laser works better, it could mean less pain and faster healing for children having tongue-tie surgery.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 53 children, so results may not apply to everyone. The laser might not heal better than the standard method.
