NCT ID NCT07512765
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study follows 348 breastfed babies from birth to age 4 to see how tongue-tie (a tight band under the tongue) affects breastfeeding, feeding, and later speech. Researchers measure tongue movement and compare different assessment tools to find the most reliable way to diagnose tongue-tie. The goal is to give doctors and parents clear evidence on when treatment like frenotomy is truly needed.
