Laser boost for implant gum disease?

NCT ID NCT07524153

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looked at whether using a diode laser with standard deep cleaning helps treat gum disease around dental implants (peri-implantitis). 39 adults with the condition were split into three groups: cleaning alone, laser alone, or both together. Researchers measured gum health and levels of a protein linked to inflammation (S100A8) over 12 weeks to see which approach worked best.
