Laser zaps 'Pregnancy Mask' spots in bid to stop their comeback

NCT ID NCT06644157

Summary

This study is testing if a specific type of laser can improve the treatment of melasma (dark skin patches, sometimes called the 'pregnancy mask') and help prevent it from returning. Thirty adults with moderate to severe melasma will use a standard skin-lightening cream on their whole face. One side of each participant's face will also receive laser treatments every other week for three months to see if it works better. The main goal is to see if the laser-treated side has less severe melasma six months after starting.
