Gentle laser light tested to soothe dementia distress
NCT ID NCT07204145
Summary
This study is testing whether a painless, low-level laser applied to specific points on the body can help reduce agitation, anxiety, and other distressing symptoms in people with dementia. It will involve 60 participants living in care facilities. Researchers will use the laser three times a week to see if it improves behavior, thinking skills, and daily function, while also tracking if it reduces the need for psychiatric medications.
