Doctors seek to predict risky leaks after throat cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07287865

Summary

This study aims to understand why some patients develop wound leaks after surgery to remove throat cancers. Researchers are looking back at 400 patients who had this surgery to identify factors, like poor nutrition and muscle loss, that increase the risk of complications. The goal is to help doctors better predict which patients need extra care during and after their operation.
