Critical care trial aims to find best tool for emergency breathing tube placement
NCT ID NCT07223762
Summary
This trial aims to find out which of two common video laryngoscope blade designs helps doctors place a breathing tube more successfully on the first try in critically ill adults. It will enroll 2,500 adults in emergency departments and intensive care units who need a breathing tube inserted. Doctors will be randomly assigned to use either a standard or a hyperangulated blade, and researchers will measure success on the first attempt and low oxygen levels as key outcomes.
