Throat probe may spot hidden reflux that causes hoarseness
NCT ID NCT01854970
First seen May 15, 2026 ยท Last updated May 15, 2026
Summary
This study tested a special probe that measures acid in both the throat and esophagus to see if it can better detect laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), a condition where stomach acid backs up into the voice box area. Researchers compared results from 30 people with LPR symptoms to healthy volunteers. The goal was to see if this method could more accurately identify abnormal reflux episodes.
