Keyhole vs. open surgery for colon cancer: which is better?
NCT ID NCT05713903
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study compares laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery to traditional open surgery for removing the right side of the colon in people with right colon cancer. Both surgeries use a special technique called complete mesocolic excision (CME) to remove the cancer and surrounding tissue. The goal is to see which method gives better cancer removal quality and recovery, with fewer complications. About 114 adults aged 18 to 90 with early-stage right colon cancer will take part.
