Keyhole surgery for emergency colon resection put to the test

Summary
This study compares two surgical methods—keyhole (laparoscopic) and open—for emergency removal of part of the colon. About 192 adults needing urgent colon surgery will be randomly assigned to one technique. The goal is to see which approach leads to fewer complications and better long-term survival.
