Keyhole surgery tested for faster liver infection recovery

NCT ID NCT07303829

Summary

This study aims to determine if laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery is a safer and more effective way to drain liver abscesses compared to traditional open surgery or needle drainage. Researchers will enroll 30 adults with liver abscesses that haven't responded to simpler treatments. They will compare recovery times, complication rates, and whether the infection returns after the different procedures.
