10-Year study charts better path for Kids' appendicitis surgery

NCT ID NCT07385261

Summary

This study looked back at 10 years of treatment for 765 children with severe appendicitis to understand which surgical approaches work best. Researchers compared different laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery strategies to manage complications like abscesses and masses. The goal was to create clearer treatment guidelines, especially for hospitals with limited resources, to improve recovery and reduce hospital stays.
