Can an HIV drug help fight lung cancer?

Summary

This study tests whether adding the antiviral drug lamivudine to standard chemotherapy and immunotherapy can prevent small cell lung cancer from becoming resistant to treatment. About 28 adults with advanced-stage small cell lung cancer will receive the combination. The goal is to see if this approach improves how long the cancer stays under control.
