Calming kids with milk protein before surgery
NCT ID NCT07172594
Summary
This study tested whether giving children a supplement called Lactium, derived from milk protein, before tonsil surgery could help prevent them from becoming agitated or distressed when waking up from anesthesia. Researchers compared Lactium to a placebo in 135 children aged 4 to 7. The goal was to see if this preemptive approach could make recovery smoother and less stressful for young patients.
