Enzyme-Enhanced milk could help tiny preemies pack on pounds

NCT ID NCT07150884

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a digestive enzyme called lactase to milk helps premature babies gain weight better. It will involve 100 premature infants, born between 28 and 34 weeks, who are receiving most of their nutrition from milk. The goal is to see if the enzyme helps them digest milk more easily, leading to better weight gain and fewer feeding problems.
