New labor pain study tests safer drug combination
NCT ID NCT07264309
Summary
This study compares two different approaches to managing pain during early labor. Researchers are testing whether a combination of two common pain medications (tramadol and paracetamol given through an IV) works better and causes fewer side effects than the standard pethidine injection. The trial involves 140 women in labor who will receive one of these two pain relief options while researchers measure their pain levels and monitor for any side effects.
