New study aims to ease breakthrough labor pain with spinal morphine

Summary
This study tests whether adding a small dose of morphine to the spinal part of a combined spinal-epidural (CSE) can reduce sudden pain during labor. About 182 first-time mothers will receive either CSE with or without morphine. The goal is to see if morphine helps prevent pain that breaks through the epidural, making labor more comfortable.
