First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether L-serine, a dietary supplement, can improve overall functioning in 40 children and young adults (ages 2-30) with GRIN-related neurodevelopmental disorders caused by loss-of-function gene variants. Each participant will receive both L-serine and a placebo in alternating periods to compare effects. The goal is to see if L-serine reduces symptom severity, improves behavior, cognition, and motor skills, and is safe to take.
