First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether a probiotic called L. lactis CKDB001 can improve liver health in people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). About 95 adults with mildly elevated liver enzymes took the probiotic or a placebo for 12 weeks. The main goal was to see if the probiotic lowered liver enzyme levels, which are markers of liver stress.
