Natural supplement trial offers hope for aching knees
NCT ID NCT06960694
Summary
This study tested whether a nutritional supplement called L-carnitine could help people with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis. For 8 weeks, 66 participants either took L-carnitine pills or a placebo (dummy pill) three times a day. Researchers measured changes in pain, stiffness, physical function, and markers of inflammation and stress in the body to see if the supplement worked better than the placebo.
