Can common supplements help dialysis patients? study investigates
NCT ID NCT07303088
Summary
This study tested whether two dietary supplements, L-Carnitine and Coenzyme Q10, could reduce harmful oxidative stress in people with kidney failure who require regular dialysis. Researchers compared the supplements against placebo pills in 52 patients over 12 weeks, then followed them for another 12 weeks. The goal was to see if these supplements are safe and can improve certain blood markers of stress and antioxidant levels in this vulnerable patient group.
