Can a simple supplement help heart transplant patients exercise better and protect their kidneys?
NCT ID NCT00213915
Summary
This study tested whether taking L-arginine, a dietary supplement, for six weeks could improve exercise capacity and kidney function in stable male heart transplant recipients. Researchers wanted to see if this supplement could help with common issues like reduced exercise ability and medication-related kidney strain. The trial involved 30 participants who were not very active and had stable health for at least three months.
