First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at the safety and effects of kratom, a plant sometimes used for pain or opioid withdrawal, in 40 healthy adults who have used opioids recreationally but are not dependent. Participants received single increasing doses of kratom to see how the body processes it and what side effects occur. The goal was to gather basic safety information, not to treat any condition.
