Surgery vs. therapy: the race to stop young knees from popping out

NCT ID NCT02333825

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to prevent repeat kneecap dislocations in patients aged 25 and younger. It compares two approaches: surgery to reconstruct a key knee ligament versus a non-surgical program of physical therapy. Researchers will follow 240 participants for five years to see which treatment leads to fewer repeat dislocations and better knee function.
