Surgery vs. rehab: new trial aims to stop kneecaps from popping out again
NCT ID NCT06926699
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to prevent a kneecap from dislocating again after a first-time injury. Young patients (ages 16-25) will be randomly assigned to either have a ligament-repair surgery or to follow a rest and physical therapy program. Researchers will track them for a year to see which treatment better prevents repeat dislocations and improves knee pain and function.
