New scan could reveal hidden damage in injured knees
NCT ID NCT06381492
Summary
This study tested whether a special type of MRI scan, called diffusion tensor imaging, can reveal microscopic damage in injured knee tendons that regular scans might miss. Researchers compared scans from 62 people with and without patellar tendon injuries to see if the advanced imaging could better explain their knee pain and function. The goal is to find better ways to diagnose and treat these common sports injuries in the future.
