New nerve block study aims to reduce pain and speed recovery after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT06188806

Summary

This study is comparing two different approaches for a nerve block (proximal and distal adductor canal block) to see which one better controls pain and improves mobility after total knee replacement surgery. The research involves 78 adults with knee osteoarthritis who are having this surgery under spinal anesthesia. Researchers will measure pain levels, time to first movement, hospital stay length, and pain medication use to determine which approach helps patients recover more comfortably.
