New nerve block study aims to reduce knee surgery pain

NCT ID NCT05561881

Summary

This study compared two different nerve block techniques for managing pain after knee surgery. Researchers tested whether blocking nerves around the knee joint (genicular nerve block) or behind the knee (IPACK block) provides better pain relief in the first 24 hours after surgery. The goal was to help patients recover more comfortably while reducing the need for opioid pain medications.
