First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at 120 people having knee replacement surgery to see if using 10 mL or 20 mL of numbing medicine for a nerve block (popliteal plexus block) works better for pain. The goal was to reduce the need for strong painkillers (opioids) in the first 24 hours after surgery. Participants also received standard pain management and were monitored for pain, muscle strength, and recovery quality.
