Knee replacement patients may get better pain relief from a continuous nerve block, study suggests

NCT ID NCT07581886

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two methods of pain control after total knee replacement: a single injection of numbing medicine versus a continuous drip through a small tube for 48 hours. About 78 adults aged 40-80 will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The goal is to see which approach provides better pain relief and recovery, with careful checks to ensure the tube stays in the right place.
