Knee surgery drain debate: does it ease your pain?

NCT ID NCT07175883

Summary

This study tested whether using a surgical drain after a total knee replacement reduces early post-surgery pain. Researchers compared pain levels in 60 patients over age 60 who had knee replacement, with half receiving a drain and half not. The goal was to see if this common practice actually helps patients feel better in the days following surgery.
