Knee surgery study tests which alignment method keeps implants more secure

NCT ID NCT04079751

Summary

This study compared two different surgical alignment techniques used during total knee replacement for osteoarthritis. Fifty-two patients were randomly assigned to receive either a 'neutral mechanical' alignment or an 'anatomic' alignment of their new knee implant. Researchers tracked how much the implants moved over two years and measured patients' pain, function, and satisfaction to see if one technique led to better long-term results.
