Does weight loss surgery make knee replacements last longer?
NCT ID NCT06433700
Summary
This large study looked at nearly 100,000 patients to understand if having weight loss surgery before a knee replacement affects how long the new knee lasts. Researchers analyzed national health records to see if patients who had weight loss surgery needed fewer follow-up surgeries or had fewer infections after their knee replacement. The goal was to provide clearer information to help doctors and patients make better decisions about timing these procedures.
