New procedure tested for chronic knee pain relief

NCT ID NCT06929585

Summary

This study aimed to compare two different procedures for relieving knee osteoarthritis pain. It tested a newer, minimally invasive procedure called genicular artery embolization (GAE) against the more common steroid injection. The goal was to see which provided better and longer-lasting pain relief over a year for adults over 40 whose knee pain hadn't improved with standard treatments. The study was terminated early after enrolling only one participant.
