New injection tested to ease aching knees

NCT ID NCT02539095

Summary

This study tested whether an injection of collagen directly into the knee joint could reduce pain better than a placebo injection of salt water. It involved 200 adults with knee pain from conditions like osteoarthritis or past injuries. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either the collagen injection or the placebo and were followed for 24 weeks to compare their pain levels and overall knee function.
