Zapping vs. chemical: new study tests best way to block knee pain after surgery

NCT ID NCT07381335

Summary

This study aims to find the better method for reducing long-term pain after knee replacement surgery. It will compare two techniques that block pain signals from the knee nerves: one uses heat (radiofrequency) and the other uses a chemical (phenol). Researchers will follow 140 patients for six months after their procedure to measure which group experiences greater and longer-lasting pain relief.
