Can how you think during exercise ease knee pain?
NCT ID NCT07384858
Summary
This study is testing whether changing how people focus their attention during knee-strengthening exercises can help reduce pain and improve function for individuals with patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner's knee). Researchers will compare two mental strategies—focusing internally on the muscle movement versus focusing externally on the exercise equipment—to see which leads to better outcomes in strength, pain, and daily activities. The goal is to find more effective physical therapy techniques for this common knee condition.
