Summary
This study tested whether Reiki (a gentle hands-on energy therapy) or mindfulness meditation can reduce pain and stiffness in people with knee osteoarthritis. 164 adults were randomly assigned to receive Reiki, a sham (fake) Reiki, meditation, or just wait without treatment. Each active treatment lasted 20 minutes once a week for four weeks. The goal was to see if these mind-body approaches offer real relief for chronic knee pain.
