First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a new procedure called genicular artery embolization (GAE) against standard steroid injections for people with painful knee osteoarthritis. About 264 adults with mild to severe knee pain that hasn't improved with other treatments will be randomly assigned to one of the two options. The goal is to see if GAE provides better pain relief and safety over six months and up to two years.
