Scientists test how tired legs lead to falls in arthritis patients

NCT ID NCT06229691

Summary

This study aimed to understand how muscle fatigue affects the risk of tripping and falling in adults aged 55-70 with knee osteoarthritis. Researchers compared 24 participants with and without knee arthritis by having them walk on a treadmill, complete strength and balance tests, and wear activity monitors. The goal was to learn whether fatigue from walking increases fall risk more in people with knee osteoarthritis.
