Sugar shots: MRI-Guided injections may beat standard care for knee arthritis

NCT ID NCT06755697

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether injecting a sugar-water solution (dextrose) into specific spots seen on an MRI works better than injecting it into the knee joint space for treating knee osteoarthritis. About 60 adults aged 45-80 with moderate knee arthritis will receive either MRI-guided or standard injections. The goal is to see which approach reduces pain and improves knee function more effectively.
