Knee numbing showdown: which nerve block works best?

NCT ID NCT07444827

First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests two different methods of numbing the front-inside of the knee in 25 healthy adults. One method targets the saphenous nerve, while the other also targets a nearby nerve called the nerve to vastus medialis. The goal is to see which approach provides better numbness without weakening the thigh muscle. Participants receive both blocks (one on each leg) in a single visit, and their strength and sensation are measured.
