First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at how muscles around the knee work together to control movement in 28 healthy adults. Researchers used MRI scans and temporarily numbed a specific knee muscle with lidocaine to see how it affects kneecap position. The goal was to better understand what causes front knee pain, which may help improve treatments for patellofemoral pain syndrome.
