Mind over medicine? watching needle prep may boost knee injection power

NCT ID NCT04111718

Summary

This study investigates whether seeing the preparation steps for a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) knee injection influences how well patients think it works for osteoarthritis pain. Researchers are testing if patients who watch the injection being prepared report better pain relief and knee function compared to those who don't see the prep work. The trial involves 158 adults aged 50-80 with knee arthritis to understand how awareness of the procedure affects treatment outcomes.
