Do plastic knee parts hold up as well as metal?

NCT ID NCT04358575

Summary

This study aimed to see if a knee replacement part made entirely of plastic stays in place as well as a part with a metal backing. Researchers followed 60 patients with severe arthritis for two years after their knee replacement surgery. They used special X-rays to measure tiny movements of the new knee parts to predict which design might last longer.
