First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at two ways to treat a broken thigh bone near a knee replacement in people 65 and older. One option is to fix the bone with plates and screws. The other is to replace the knee joint with an artificial one. The goal is to see which surgery leads to less pain and better knee function.
