New cartilage patch tested to heal Worn-Out knees

NCT ID NCT06249828

Summary

This study tested whether a new medical device called MegaCarti® works better than standard microfracture surgery to repair damaged knee cartilage. It involved 61 adults aged 50-65 with specific knee cartilage injuries. Researchers compared how well the new patch helped regrow cartilage versus the standard procedure alone, measuring results with MRIs and patient surveys over 48 weeks.
